This paper reviews the current UK radioactive waste situation, taking a fairly broad-brush approach. It attempts to look objectively at the situation that exists at the UK level, concentrating on principles and programmes rather than detailed technological problems. The paper concludes with a summary of the current problems and challenges facing radioactive waste management.
