摘要
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has developed from a management idea into company action and international social responsibility standards. In the process of reform and opening up, Chinese companies have to obey international principia and regulations, including labor standards. This paper focuses on comparison between the international standards of CSR (as an example to SA8000) and the labor laws in China, analyzes the gap between the standards both at home and abroad, and discusses the following issues: 1.To enterprises, is CSR a kind of competition pressure or a method of gaining competitive advantage? 2. Are China's current labor standards too high or too low for the reality of the country? 3. How to make the implementation of labor standards into companies' conscious act? This paper advocates that corporate social responsibility to employees is not only operation philosophy, but also a series of practice to pursuit social welfare.
