摘要
Aging is associated with an individual's executive functional loss, hence the importance of minimizing this decline. In this sense, exergames emerge as a possibility to stimulate the elderly through immersion within a virtual environment. Thus, the aim was to organize the evidence through an integrative review. Positive results were observed in different domains, such as cognition, abstract reasoning, memory, and greater engagement in physical activities. Even groups of vulnerable older adults, such as institutionalized people and those with Parkinson's, obtained significant gains with the practice of exergames. Thus, an exergame was found to be a valuable tool for improving cognition, reasoning, and memory and as an incentive to practice physical activity in the elderly, even in the most fragile groups.
