Transformation of speech intention over intonation - Speech configuration on the radio and in the German lesson

Which means of expression does a news-reader employ to make his report sound "objective" ? By which characteristics is a comment (used within a narrative report) marked as "ironic" The following contribution tries to answer these questions by analyzing authentic extracts from radio programmes. In this context, a new approach is introduced, that combines traits of a technical proceeding with aspects of an emotion-focused perspective. Furthermore, possible didactic implications are discussed.
