摘要
The characteristics of wood of three white willow (Salix alba L.) clones, aged thirteen, were determined: clone 79/64/2 is a certified domestic variety; clone 107/65/9 is in the stage of certifying, while clone 378 is a Hungarian clone, certified as a foreign variety and used in production. Average width of growth rings is 5-7 mm, and average length of wood fibers is above one millimeter, except for the clone 79/64/2 whose fibers are shorter (0.9 mm). Nominal wood density is averagely about 340 kg/m(3), with some differences between the clones. Cellulose content is somewhat lower, and the contents of lignin and extractives is somewhat higher compared to poplar wood.
