CONSIDERATIONS ON THE TOPIC OF QUALITY MANAGEMENT IN INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION

In order to cope with the challenges and the ever growing pressures of the competitive environment, companies must develop long term processes for the continuous improvement of production quality as a means to guarantee effective competition on a global market. This paper focuses on highlighting the managerial aspects which fundament industrial production quality assurance and the determining role quality plays in increasing the economic performance of industrial companies. The topics of production quality optimization and production processes optimization as well as the topic of quality cost are analyzed as determining variable to be considered when adopting a management policy to ensure the product quality. Finally, some considerations are outlined regarding the implications of the total qualify concept implementation on the system of values, actions, behaviours and practices specific of the company and of its management.
