摘要
Tracer-based scales for the depth and velocity of gravity currents, and a tentative extension of previous entrainment relations to coflowing ambients are proposed. These scales are consistent with the conventional ones used for open channel flows. They are used here to formulate conservation equations for flows on inclines, which are backed up by water jets directed upstream. The corresponding results for a single layer are compared with experiments carried out for this study.
