RETRACTED: Safety Evaluation System for Bridges Structure under Overloaded Vehicles (Retracted Article)

It Load from overloaded vehicles far exceeds the design load, which severely threaten the safe operation of highway bridges and is one of the main causes of bridge collapse in recent years. This paper analyzes in detail the variation of the reliability index of flexural members of in-service bridges with the correction coefficient of vehicle live load effect and calculates respectively the reliability index of flexural members corresponding to different live load effect correction coefficient, adopting the statistic parameter of resistance and load effect suggested by Unified Design Standards for the structure reliability of highway engineering. Calculations show that overloaded transportation has significant effect on the safety of bridge members and bridge structure. (C) 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
