Continuous Antenna Calibration for the Transient Array Radio Telescope

We describe the current state of antenna design for the all-sky Transient Array Radio Telescope, and describe the algorithms used to continuously calibrate the antenna array gains and phases of each array element during normal operation. We show how a basin-hopping high-dimensional minimization algorithm can calculate the antenna calibration parameters effectively from real-time visibilities, and the known position and signal-structure of the GNSS satellites. Finally we describe current attempts to integrate individual antenna models that capture direction dependent effects into the calibration procedure.
