摘要
Based on an analysis of daily satellite IR images of the region of the Benguela upwelling (15-32 degrees S), acquired in two marine expeditions in January February 1986 and April-June 1988, a system of five upwelling cells was identified, their spatial and thermal characteristics were determined and their short-period variability was found. An analysis of the geographical position of the cells and their interconnection with the features of the bottom topography was performed. Some mechanisms for the occurrence of upwelling cells are discussed.
