Haptic media synchronization control with dead-reckoning in networked virtual environments

摘要
This paper supposes that users manipulate CG objects in a networked 3-D virtual space by using force feedback devices. We propose a haptic media synchronization scheme with dead-reckoning, which predicts the positions of the objects, by enhancing the virtual-time rendering (VTR) media synchronization algorithm, which the authors previously proposed. The proposed scheme carries out traffic control of haptic media by changing a threshold value of dead-reckoning dynamically according to the network load. By experiment, we demonstrate the effectiveness of the scheme.
