摘要
The cable is an indispensable connecting device in electronic measurement. When the wavelength of the measured signal is comparative to the length of the cable, the effect of the cable should not be ignored. So we must know the frequency response of the cable first and then deduct it. Traditionally we use APMS or network analyzer to measure the frequency response of the cable, but these two methods both have their own limitations. In this paper, a new method called "The cable Measurement and Analysis Technology Based on Nose-to-Nose Calibration procedure" is introduced, and the principle, the algorithm, the experimental setup and the result of this technology are explained in detail. This technology overcomes the disadvantage of the traditional methods, and can obtain the frequency response of the cable more accurately. Especially, the resulting bandwidth is wider than the bandwidth of the oscilloscope.
