Hydromagnetic dusty-gas boundary-layer flow with variable properties past a non-isothermal flat plate

摘要
The problem of boundary-layer now and heat transfer of a two-phase particulate suspension in electrically-conducting fluids past a semi-infinite flat plate at variable temperature and in the presence of a transverse magnetic field is formulated. The formulation is based on the continuum approach and includes the effects of particle-phase stresses. The developed non-linear governing partial differential equations are solved numerically by an accurate, implicit, iterative, finite-difference method. Numerical results for the displacement thicknesses and skin-friction coefficients for both phases as well as the wall heat transfer coefficient for the fluid phase are illustrated graphically to show special features of the solution. The obtained results indicate that the presence of the magnetic field causes sharp reductions in the wall friction coefficients and wall heat transfer and abrupt increases in the displacement thicknesses close to the end of the computational domain.
