摘要
A long gap discharge in air has been guided and triggered by an intense laser pulse as a model experiment of laser-triggered lightning. The lasers used in this experiment were two CO2 lasers with pulse energies of 50 J and 200 J. 50% sparkover voltages of the laser-guided discharges were measured under various conditions. The laser-triggered lightning system was evaluated by calculating the laser energy required to trigger the lightning. (C) 1999 The Optical Society of America.
