摘要
The usage of Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR and AR) in medical education is a discussed subject in the scientific papers from the past years if not decades. Fortunately, nowadays the VR and AR technology advancements are in their best times as the available technology is growing in a fast pace. Now there are available in high numbers not only low cost, performant hardware solutions but many systems engines that provide 'easy to integrate' VR and AR support. This aspect is providing a new level of accessibility in using the VR and AR in general. Education, not only medical one, can benefit from this progress as the young generation responds to different stimuli compared with previous ones as we are starting to be surrounded by a world with truly immersive VR and AR applications that are changing our traditional perspectives. In this paper are presented the main concepts behind the VR and AR and their benefits in improving the learning process. All of these are accompanied with a detailed description of the newest involved technologies such as available devices and system engines. Also, in this paper contains a proposal for a new system that aims to bring the AR benefits to biomechanics study based on the newest available technology.
