摘要
Italian-American Workers and the Shortcomings of Transculturalism before World War II Solidarity among workers, regardless of national origin, is supposed to shape the struggle of the class-conscious proletariat. Yet Italian-American laborers in the United States retained an Italy-centered culture which prevented them from establishing stable coalitions with other minorities; it also helped pro-Fascist sentiments make inroads into their ranks, and contributed to the spreading of anti-Semitism after the passing of Mussolini's anti-Jewish legislation.
