Study of Preparation and Photocatalytic Properties of ZnO Nanorods

摘要
ZnO nanorods were synthesized by hydrothermal method and characterized by XRD and TEM. Photocatalytic properties of ZnO nanorods were studied by UV-vis spectrophotometer through analyzing photodegradation methyl violet with ZnO nanorods. ZnO nanorods were prepared with sodium hydroxide, zinc acetate as raw materials and polyacrylamide as surfactant. The results are that the wurtzite-structure ZnO nanorods with the diameter of 26 nm and the length of 400 nm were prepared. The photodegradation rate with ZnO nanorods as catalyst is 70% and that of without ZnO nanorods is 30%, which shows good photocatalytic activities of ZnO nanorods.
