IDENTIFICATION OF BASIC MECHANISMS FACILITATING COOPERATION BETWEEN SCHOOL AND FAMILY

摘要
The article presents crucial results of a qualitative research "Partnership between family and school." The aim was to describe the real face of relationships at the first grade of two primary schools from the pedagogical staff's and parents' views. Mainly mutual relationships were mapped based on an analysis of interviews with pedagogical staff and parents and basic mechanisms and key phenomena in mutual relationships were thus identified. We have implemented twenty two semi-structured interviews with teachers and parents at schools involved in this study. During results processing, recurring patterns of teachers' attitudes became manifest in their behaviour and emerged in actions, which we call subjective strategies. The term "subjective strategies" expresses teachers' subjective beliefs about their profession that are manifested in their behaviour and actions towards their pupils' parents. As a result of this, these strategies influence the level of relational dimension, communication and attitudes of parents towards teachers. In total, we have identified three strategies which together with mechanisms facilitate the cooperation between school and parents and are described in this article.
