Training of GP trainers in Flanders (Belgium)

In the first parr the goals and structure of an experimental training of GP trainers are described. The overall aim is to establish an interactive network supporting the quality of vocational training. In a system of group meetings (15 participants) and practice visits (5 participants) two groups of skills are trained: (I) the ability to turn daily practice situations into educational opportunities and (2) to communicate, i.e. make explicit and reflect about one's own way of behaving and thinking as a GP. In the second part some research data demonstrate that still much has to be done with regard to the medical equipment and the planned educational activities in the training practices.
