Experimental Study on Mix Proportion of Recycled Aggregate High-permeable Concrete

Experiments were carried out to study the permeable and mechanical performance of recycled aggregate high water permeable concrete (RAWPC) affected by the aggregate gradation with single-size, double-size and three-size continuous grading. The test results show that RAWPC with reasonable continuous grading can get the higher strength and permeability. The optimum water-to-cement ratio (W/C) of RAWPC is different with different aggregate gradation. For single-size grading, the cubic compressive strength of RAWPC is maximum with W/C as 0.31, the flexural strength of RAWPC is maximum with W/C as 0.35. For double-size grading, the cubic compressive strength of RAWPC is maximum with W/C as 0.35, the flexural strength of RAWPC is maximum with W/C as 0.31. For three-size continuous grading, the cubic compressive and flexural strengths of RAWPC are maximum with W/C as 0.35. The results may be referenced to select the reasonable aggregate gradation and the optimum W/C in the practical engineering design.
