Improved access to hematopathology teaching images

Access to the American Society of Hematology's (ASH) Slide Bank, a noted collection of hematopathologic teaching images, is limited by the need to physically possess the collection in 35mm slide, videodisc, or CD-ROM (CD) form, the latter requiring the user to also install a custom viewing application. After ensuring compliance with the CD license, the author developed and implemented a web interface to the CD. Different views of the interface are provided for different levels of trainees. Health care professionals and trainees throughout MUSC are making frequent use of the interface, with some educational benefit already seen.
