Comparative Analysis of Parabolic Equation Method and Longley-Rice Propagation Model

摘要
This study is devoted to the modeling of the radio wave propagation in the vicinity of the Earth's surface. The two widely used methods are considered: empirical Longley-Rice model and deterministic parabolic equation method. Despite the wide popularity of these methods, studies devoted to their comparative analysis are almost non-existent. In this paper, the features of these methods under various propagation conditions are investigated. The corresponding numerical experiments are carried out. The advantages and disadvantages of each approach are noted.
