摘要
To study the influence of an axial load on the sliding torque of a ball joint for the automobile parts, the sliding torque is theoretically considered by the mechanical model modeled on actual ball joint. The results of a theoretical consideration are used to the discussion for the experimental values on the sliding torque. The relationship between the sliding torque and the compressive load or the tensile load applies to a ball joint can explain by the compound spring model. The compound spring model is assumed that a ball seat and a cushion between the ball stud and the socket structured in the ball joint are the elastic body and the ball stud and socket is the rigid body. The obtained results can be summarized as follows: The relationship between the sliding torque and the compressive load or the tensile load obtained by the experiment can be approximately explained by above mentioned the model. That is, the sliding torque is decreased by the influence of the ball seat and the cushion between the ball seat and the socket, with the increase of the compressive load, it is increases with the increase of a compressive load at behind that stopping the decrease of the sliding torque, The sliding torque when loaded the tensile load approximately linearly increases with increasing of a load.
