摘要
This paper proposes an extension to the mean shift tracking by using XY projection-histograms to medel the object. More than providing statistical information about the target to track, they embed information about the spatial arrangement of pixels. This approach, without any complexity increase, provides a better robustness and quality of the tracking. That is asserted by the experiments performed on several sequences showing either vehicles or pedestrians in various contexts.
