摘要
Homaloneura berenice n sp from the Vorhalle Beds (early Upper Carboniferous, Namurian B, higher Marsdenian) is the second species of Homaloneura [Palaeodictyoptera: Spilapteridae] recorded from the important Insecta-bearing locality of Hagen-Vorhalle (Rhenish Massif, Germany). It is mainly characterized by (1) its small size (length of mesothoracic alae = 17 mm), (2) small, apically pointed prothoracic alae, (3) weak supporting cross vein r-m, (4) lack of distinctly marked cuticular thickenings, and (5) only few small light spots on the meso- and metathoracic alae, arranged regularly in 3 bands.
