摘要
The paper demonstrates the proposed system for Real-time vehicle registration number recognition and transmission using microprocessor. The designed system is implemented on Indian number plates and the transmission of the desired vehicle information is facilitated by the usage of GSM module. Images of car number plates are captured by a USB webcam connected to the Raspberry-pi processor. The image processing block of the system is implemented on MATLAB. The objective of the work is to develop a real-time independent wireless system for vehicle inspection and to eliminate fake number plate vehicles. The proposed system functions efficiently and independently with moderate environment conditions. Webcam wired to the Raspberry-pi is processed in MATLAB by developing a wireless connection between the processor and MATLAB. The arduino board attached to the Host computer is responsible for data transfer using GSM module connected to the microcontroller. Through serial communication between MATLAB and microcontroller, data is transferred and received as an SMS. The working of the system is explained in the paper which presents an independent and efficient real time system. Further, a simulink block is to be deployed in the raspberry-pi which works as a complete standalone system.
