摘要
Brazilian test of explosive is an important method to test the mechanical property of the explosive. In this paper, on the basis of introducing the mechanical principle, characteristic of the Brazilian test and its application in studying on the mechanical property of the explosive, the newly developed numerical method-numerical manifold method is adopted to simulate the process of the Brazilian test, and the simulation result perfectly re-shows the failure process of the explosive. The simulation result perfectly makes up the deficiency that the numerical methods such as FEM can only gives the distribution of the stress in the Brazilian disc, and cannot simulate the occurrence and propagation of the crack. It shows that this numerical method can be used to study the mechanical property of the explosive.
