Radical ion salts of aromatic N-oxides:: IV.: Salts formed by N-alkoxypyridinium cations and 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane radical anion

摘要
Twelve new complex radical ion salts formed by N-alkoxypyridinium cations and 7,7,8,8-tetra-cyanoquinodimethane radical anion were isolated and examined by IR, UV, ESR, and H-1 and C-13 NMR spectroscopy. Specific resistance of some crystalline salts was measured. The electric conductivity of these salts is influenced by the hydrocarbon radical on the oxygen atom in N-alkoxypyridinium cation more strongly than by the substituent in position 4 of the pyridine ring.
