RESIDENTIAL AREA IN RURAL MUNICIPALITIES OF THE SUBURBAN ZONE OF NITRA CITY

Paper focuses on changes in rural land, caused expansion of residential areas at the expense of agricultural areas. The aim of this paper is to highlight the expansion of settlement building in the suburban zone of Nitra, which is currently being built houses. In the processing of that issue it is based on standard geographical methods including field research. To compare the changes of residential areas were used aerial photos from 2000 and 2015. Results showed that in suburban zone communities have occurred in the building sprawl significant changes, thus the face of rural villages changed and rural architecture. Construction of high standard houses of unusual appearance there was modernization and the development of rural communities entirely due to suburbanisation process.
