摘要
Energy efficiency is a key to sustainable development. With the rapid growth of housing development in China, energy inefficiency in housing is becoming a crucial problem for nation's sustainable development. This paper presents the findings from measurements and prediction relating to aspects of energy performance of a newly developed high-rise residential development in the north of China. In order to achieve the energy saving strategies required by government, computer simulation of a series of passive design approaches were carried out by using the building energy model HTB2. The results indicate that energy savings in line with government targets are achievable if energy saving measures are integrated into the design. Building energy models can identify the most appropriate package of measures for achieving savings.
