摘要：

China has witnessed a series of achievements during every stage of college English teaching reform. Its trend and objectives should be placed on cultivating the students' practical abilities of professional English. Facing the new situation and new requirements, Hubei University of science and technology should take the characteristics of its development into consideration and examine the experience and lessons of the former college English teaching reforms in order to discover problems and find out the solutions. The ultimate aim is that the college would make full use of teaching resources, set up different teaching programs and establish a diversified mode of College English teaching according to the actual needs of different majors and professional development.
