摘要：

Effect macroeconomic factors on development and function of world petroleum sector was presented. The interactions and interrelations between the factors were discussed. A competition between the petroleum companies is very strong and mechanisms knowledge of achieving the success is of a crucial importance. The Polish Petroleum Concern ORLEN SA was selected as an example to show the effect of macroeconomic and regional factors on function of the Polish petroleum branch.
