Interaction of thiacarbocyanine polymethine dyes with the surface of silver bromide sols

摘要：
A number of thiacarbocyanine polymethine dyes before and after adsorption on the surface of AgBr grains was studied by the method of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The mechanism of adsorption of thiacarbocyanine dyes was found to consist in the formation of bonds between sulfur atoms of heterocyclic rings of the dyes and atoms of the substrate. Adsorption of spectral sensitizers was shown to change the electronic state of dye molecules and the composition of the AgBr surface.
