This experience report relates to the authors experiences of over 15 years of being involved in process improvement in Ireland with a wide variety of organisations. Experiences relating to process assessments and to approaches to improve the process will be shared. This includes software process improvement as well as test process improvement and observations on the relationship between them. The author's view of the present and indeed future need for pragmatic and rapid process improvement and how this relates to the increasing use of agile methods is discussed.
