The present paper is a short survey of the main trends of Professor Ostrovsky's activity in the field of holographic interferometry. His main studies in the fields of holographic plasma diagnostics, the applications of holographic interferometry in hydrodynamics and mechanics, and the correlation holographic and speckle interferometry are considered.
