Some remarks concerning forest inventory needs for multifunctional forest utilization

The paper focuses on the needs of forest inventory i.e. the gathering and processing of data which support multifunctional forest utilization. Forest management levels become more and more sophisticated and the carried out measurements and forest data collection should concern all elements enabling integrated forest resource management, as well as effective, ergonomic and precise conduction of forest operations. Inventory should encompass forest floor vegetation, shrub layer and plantations of cultivated plants in forest areas, harvest of needle litter and needle drop, charring wood into charcoal, harvesting of fossils in forest areas, harvesting of medicinal, industrial, decorative and fruit-bearing forest plants, and edible forest mushrooms.
