摘要
During more than ten years, between 1911 and 1913, the Ottoman Empire had not a single year in peace. Western historiography approaches these events as separate conflicts : first, the Italian-Ottoman War (October 1911-October 1912), second, the Balkan Wars (October 1912-August 1913), that were followed a year later by the First World War. The Great War provoked the Independence War against the occupying Allied forces. However, in the Ottoman Empire and afterwards in Turkey, most of the population that experienced these conflicts had a different perception, of a continuum, a sole and unique war. In addition, the use of the expression "On Yillik Harp" [Ten year War] with a broader time period allows a better comprehension of social and military processes at the end of the Ottoman Empire.
