Detection of three pollutant gases and their mixtures in a humid atmosphere using a portable electronic nose

摘要
We have developed an intelligent multi sensor system with autonomy during several hours, low weight and very small size for environmental pollutant gas evaluation. This electronic nose is portable and conceived for embedded applications such as pollution control or cartography. The sensor array is composed of commercial metal oxide gas sensors selected for their good cross sensitivity to studied pollutant gases. The control and analysis part of the system is realized using a microcontroller connected to a compact flash memory. The prototype description and the laboratory validation of this system is presented here for different concentrations of three pollutant environmental gases (H2S, NO2, SO2) and their mixtures, in dry or humid synthetic air to approach conditions in real sites where humidity has an important effect.
