The International Farm Comparison Network (IFCN) - objectives, organisation and first results on international competitiveness of dairy production

IFCN means International Farm Comparison Network. The IFCN is a world-wide association of agricultural scientists, advisors and farmers. Within the framework of this cooperation. agricultural farms and production systems are defined that are typical for then region. Their economic situation is analyzed and the farms are projected into the future. IFCN Dairy Report: For a better understanding of daily farming worldwide a unique database of typical Farms shall be created and updated annually. Besides the growth of the network the methods for data collection. cost analysis and models used for projection shall be improved permanently. In the publication the results of the comparison 1998 are presented. In the end of the year 2000 an update will be available.
