摘要
Even though the course is implemented during the Covid-19 pandemic, the research-based experiential learning approach for electrical engineering master's students is introduced. In this implementation, the step-by-step research method is applied using active learning which is combined with mentoring schemes. In the mid-semester, the students should plan the research problems and report their literature review results that include the proposed method. Furthermore, at the end of the semester, they have to report their final works. To encourage the students to familiar with using academic writing tools, the instructor asked the students to write mid and final reports using Latex. This study shows that the implementation of the research-based experiential learning approach for first-year master's students can be used to prepare the students to do their master's research thesis. The proposed approach can be utilized to increase the learning outcomes. Furthermore, the approach can be used to increase the students' experience.
