摘要
The Sheppard Subway in Toronto is being constructed by machine tunnelling and cut-and-cover construction in urban areas. Settlement caused by the work was predicted using empirical and computer models. The risk of ground movements causing unacceptable damage to nearby facilities was categorized and prioritized in a two-step process. The methods used in the damage assessments are discussed in this paper in relation to development of contract specifications along with suggestions for future projects.
