Revision of Afrotropical Delia Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 (Diptera: Anthomyiidae), with descriptions of six new species

The Afrotropical Delia is revised to include 20 species. Six new species are described: madagascariensis., ismayi, pseudoventralis, tibila. endorsina and cameroonica. Three new synonymies are established: Chortophila linearis Adams, 1905 = Hylemyia bracata Rondani, 1866; Hylemyia dispar Bezzi. 1908 = Hylemyia bracata Rondani, 1866 and Hylemyia capensis Malloch, 1924 = Hylemyia urbana Malloch. 1924. Hylemyia arambourgi Seguy, 1938 is resurrected from synonymy. The Delia bracata section is expanded to include a new subsection. the ventralis subsection.
