The Conceptual Model for the Sustainable Use of Tourism Resources revisited: The effect of macro dimensions on the sustainable use of Egyptian tourism resources

In our previous paper titled "Towards a Conceptual Model for the Sustainable Use of Tourism Resources" presented to the 6(th) CSI conference; we have outlined the dimensions of a conceptual model for the sustainability of tourism resources. This model was applied to Egyptian tourism resources. In this paper, we aim to include macro independent variables that are expected to explain the variance in the dependent variable, i.e. the sustainable use of tourism resources. This aims to enhance the applicability and empirical value of the model. Hence, we will test the effect of macro dimensions on the sustainable use of tourism resources. These macro variables involve; sociocultural, institutional, organizational and economic dimensions. The data is collected by personal interviews using a pre-tested questionnaire from 240 respondents of tourism and travel experts, tourist guides and Egyptologists. A random Stratified Sample is also used. The questionnaire is coded and data is statistically analyzed by applying multi-variate parametric statistical analysis techniques.
