摘要
In common with many aspects of the HIV life cycle, the assembly of the virus particle has been the subject of intense investigation over recent years. Study of the subject is facilitated by the fact that only a single gene product, the Pr55 Gag protein, is required for virus assembly. A combination of site directed mutagenesis, biochemical characterisation and structural studies have led to a picture of the overall architecture of the particle, the partial structure of Pr55, and the subdomains involved in oligomerisation.
