摘要
This paper demonstrates how fuzzy logic can be applied to classroom projects, giving students a method for solving problems when a mathematical model is extremely complicated or does not exist. Fuzzy logic approximates human reasoning by employing linguistic terms to determine casual relationships between input and output variables. The scheduling of generators to achieve an economical cost of operation of a power system is selected as an ideal application for an introducing the fundamentals of fuzzy logic. Once the principles of fuzzy logic have been presented to students, its application to the generator scheduling problem is easily exhibited.
