摘要
Thr Headstart 2006 project aims to demonstrate pervasive computing's approach of detecting real-world phenomena, processing it using embedded computers, and using actuators to achieve a desirable effect. Headstart is national scheme in the UK for talented students entering their final year of secondary schools in which applicants can choose from courses at a number of universities. The program is expected to help students to learn about the modern, practical, and relevant computing to interact in various environments. The program exposes students to the diversity of the topics and interdisciplinary approaches in the field and give hands-on experience to the students with developing mobile and pervasive technologies. The students also became aware of the challenges to overcome the difficulties that counter with human programmers to express complex algorithms that run on an embedded microprocessor.
