摘要：

This paper presents a study of the two-dimensional boundary layer flows of viscoelastic second grade fluid over a stretching sheet by the similarity method. Exploiting that some features of free-parameter method and the "separation of variables" method are alike, an ordinary differential equation governing the flow, in terms of a similarity parameter is derived. An exact solution to this equation is obtained in dimensional form. The results are discussed. (c) 2004 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH T Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
