Technology-of selective laser sintering and its applications in industry

摘要
The technology of selective laser sintering is a new method for rapidly preparing prototype parts, which produces a solid object directly from CAD model by the selective sintering of successive layers of materials powder with a laser beam. Comparing with the conventional manufacturing methods, the prominent features of this technology include high forming rate, low development cost and good flexibility, which has been widely used in the development of new products. In this paper, a brief overview of its basic process are given, the applications of such a technology in industry are discussed too.
