摘要：
The design of two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) displays for operational tasks was investigated. The format, availability, and representation of 2D and 3D displays were analyzed by using different ways of coding of altitude and pitch attributes. Various participants were engaged in visual search for the attributes of altitude and pitch for different coding schemes. The mean search times for different search attributes were calculated for the eight coding conditions. The experiments established the superiority of 2D displays over 3D displays.
