Basic studies on earthquake-resistance of tunnel linings

摘要
New Austrian Tunneling Method (NATM) has been increasing in unconsolidated ground and,hallow covering by progress of construction technology. In general, tunnel has well seismic resistant as compared to other structures on the ground. However, it is a fact that tunnels are susceptible to a large-scale damage where he seismicity is great and the distance is not far from the focus of seismic activity. On the other hand, there is no,valuation method, which can explain the deformation behavior and the mechanism of suffering quantitatively when earthquake. Therefore, we prepared model tests of 1/4 scale of existing tunnel lining. Moreover, we performed a numerical simulation of model test by non-linear FEM analysis. As a result, we confirmed that lining does not collapse but only cracked, and the analysis evaluates ductility of lining.
